western australian and australian training awards

The 22nd Annual Australian Training Awards were held in Hobart and celebrated the highest achievers from across Australia who are making an outstanding contribution to providing Australians with skills for the future.

The Awards recognise those in the vocational education and training (VET) sector who are improving our nation’s workforce because of their exceptional contribution to skills development.  Durack Institute of Technology (now Central Regional TAFE) was proud to announce that it was selected as one of three finalists in the Large Training Provider of the Year category at these awards.

Winning the 2015 Western Australia Large Training Provider of the Year award earlier in September had enabled Durack to represent the State at the national awards.

Although Durack did not win the Large Training Provider category, becoming a finalist at the Australian Training Awards means Durack is recognised Australia-wide as a national leader in skills, training and workforce development.

There are a number of key areas that Durack focuses on to ensure the best outcomes for their clients.

  • Durack works closely with employers to ensure graduates have the skills needed for the workforce.awards2.jpg
  • Durack has also established key partnerships with industry and in the community to provide students with the real life training experiences so vital to being job ready.
  • Investment in new facilities and equipment for training and in professional development for staff ensures students have access to the best possible training experience. This is evidenced up by student satisfaction rates continuing to be above 90%.

Bill Swetman, Managing Director commented that over the years Durack has worked very hard to establish itself as a successful, award winning training provider for the Mid West and Gascoyne regions.
