Cutting Edge Technology arrives at TAFE

 Metal fabrication apprentices in the Goldfields region will benefit from the highly anticipated arrival of Central Regional TAFE’s Kalgoorlie Campus new portable CNC cutting machine.

The CNC Crossbow manufactured by ESAB, is only one of three in the region and allows students to work with the latest technology available in the industry.

TAFE training can lead you to many new opportunities and Central Regional TAFE student Esther McClure’s experiences since graduating have taken her across the world.

Esther commenced her training by enrolling in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and a Certificate III in General Adult Education at our Northam Campus. She then went on to complete her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care which gave her nine months of credit towards her university degree.

The first graduates from Charles Sturt University Bachelor of Agricultural Business Management were greeted with elation by a capacity crowd at the recent graduation presentation ceremony at Muresk Institute.

The ceremony on April 12 marked the successful end to three years' study for the inaugural WA intake of students for the degree offered in a partnership between CSU and Central Regional TAFE. More than 150 people from Geraldton to the south coast attended for the presentation of certificates of completion, academic prizes and scholarships in the auditorium at Muresk.

Central Regional TAFE student Matt Saxby secures sought after CBH Group apprenticeship.

When Matt Saxby graduated from high school in 2016 he had no idea what career path he wanted to follow. He just knew he wanted to stay in Geraldton and do something hands on.

“I took a gap year to think about my future and spent a lot of time working on my car.”

“One day I had a light bulb moment and decided that mechanical work was something I wanted to pursue.”
