Central Regional TAFE has hosted a scholarship morning tea to acknowledge the significant contribution made by Scholarship sponsors and congratulate the students who have received an award.

Central Regional TAFE Managing Director Bill Swetman said Central Regional TAFE had worked closely with local business and the community for 16 years as part of the innovative Scholarship program, providing students with financial support and mentor guidance.

Central Regional TAFE’s new student hub was officially opened on Thursday 26 October with a plaque unveiled by the Hon Alannah MacTiernan, Minister for Regional Development.

The Interactive Student Hub is a new facility at the Geraldton Campus that links the existing student service areas and the Library with the main student recreation area, the Canteen/ Café and the surrounding outdoors student amenities.

Competitors are making their final preparations as excitement builds for three WorldSkills Australia regional competitions to be held at Central Regional TAFE this week.

The Kalgoorlie Campus will host two automotive competitions for the Goldfields region. The Vocational Education & Training in Schools (VETiS) competition will be held this Wednesday 25 October and the Automotive Open Competition on Thursday 26October.

A hairdressing competition for the Mid-West region will be held at the Geraldton Campus this Sunday 29 October.

Students, staff and community members came together at the Central Regional TAFE Geraldton campus last week to take part in the college’s annual NAIDOC event.

The day celebrated the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

A new relationship has blossomed between the Northam campus of Central Regional TAFE and the Shire of Northam.
Facilitated by Central Regional TAFE’s Northam Director of Training Services, Delia Pascua-McGlew, the collaboration will see all of the Shire’s staff development and training being provided by Central Regional TAFE Northam.
Ms Pascua-McGlew worked closely with the Shire of Northam’s Human Resources Co-ordinator Bev Jones for more than six months to establish the partnership.
