Beauty Diploma Now Available

Those wanting to achieve the highest qualification in the beauty services industry will not need to look far with Central Regional TAFE now offering a Diploma in Beauty Therapy at the Kalgoorlie Campus.

It is the first time the Diploma course has been available at the campus and allows students to train locally instead of having to travel to Perth. It consists of the most current training available in the industry, and will be taught at the TAFE’s state-of-the-art Hair and Beauty Centre.

The centre features a Hydro-therapy Spa allowing students to receive training in Spa Therapies, an area that is often not offered as part of the Diploma course by other training providers. Students will gain experience in modern techniques and holistic therapies such as hot and cold stone massage, hydrotherapy, body wraps, aromatherapy and advanced facial techniques.

Central Regional TAFE Beauty Therapy Lecturer and Centre Coordinator Emma Cook said the introduction of the nationally recognised Diploma course will increase student opportunities for employment.

“Having a Diploma qualification in the Beauty Therapy industry is invaluable.” Ms Cook said.

“Our students have an excellent employment rate after graduating. They will gain practical experience in the Student Beauty Clinic and receive training by lecturers who are internationally qualified” she said.

“Enrolments have been popular so far, especially with many from the local industry choosing to upgrade their Certificate IV qualification already enrolled in the course” she said.

Central Regional TAFE Managing Director Bill Swetman said the demand for beauty training continues to grow each year and Central Regional TAFE is proud to provide the new Diploma in Kalgoorlie.

“The skincare and beauty therapy industries are enjoying huge growth in Australia and all over the world and we at Central Regional TAFE are committed to providing meaningful training ensuring our graduates are job ready” he said.

The introduction of the Diploma complements the suite of beauty courses already available at Central Regional TAFE including a Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics, Certificate III in Beauty Services and a Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy. Courses are offered primarily full time with part time options also available and can be completed in as little as one year.

Enrolments for the Diploma in Beauty Therapy and other beauty courses are now open with classes commencing on the 18th July. Following this, the next intake of students will be in early 2018.
