TEXTILES AT NIGHT

CUAPR1201 - Develop printmaking skills

This short course sits within the Visual Art Training Package and is designed to teach students some rudimentary 2D and 3D aspects of fibre/textiles.  It will include some printing, dyeing (transfer dyes & Azoic) and 3D construction techniques (coiling by hand and sewing machine). Participants will  produce small sampler works and some finished items. 

This course will prepare participants for further investigation in the fibre/texile genre.

INTRODUCTION TO MACHINE SEWING

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew a garment using a pattern?  Do you have a sewing machine at home and are not sure how to use it? Well this is the course for you!

Learn the basics of using a sewing machine and working from a pattern, with two sessions of hand dyeing that will allow you to create colour patterns on some of your fabrics.  This course is a great way to socialise, increase your creativity and learn new skills.
