This qualification reflects the role of a new worker wanting to become an Allied Health Assistant and gain entry to the aged care, disability and other health sectors. They may provide assistance, under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHP). Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote, according to the individual Allied Health Assistant’s scope of practice and experience.

This qualification reflects the role of a new worker wanting to become an Allied Health Assistant and gain entry to the aged care, disability and other health sectors. They may provide assistance, under the delegation and supervision of Allied Health Professionals (AHP). Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote, according to the individual Allied Health Assistant’s scope of practice and experience.
To achieve this qualification, candidates are required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of clinical placement, as specified in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

- Be comfortable with appropriate physical contact with individuals of different genders and ages
- Be able to follow instructions, work health and safety procedures
- Be able to work with others and relate to and respect people from a range of cultures and backgrounds
- Active listening and emotional resilience for handling sensitive topics or stressors in the work environment
- Be able to handle the physical demands of manual tasks, including assisting with client mobility, exercise support, providing first aid
- Can provide a current and updated Immunisation vaccination history
- Can provide a current Police Check, Working with Children card and NDIS clearance.
