Are you interested in working with babies and children in an education and care service?
The sector is demanding higher qualifications and training from educators in this field to ensure consistently high standards of education and care for children placed in these services. This can be achieved by completing the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.
You'll learn how to interact and foster the development of the children while working within legal requirements and ensuring the children's health and safety are not at risk. You will work closely with children from different backgrounds and cultures and provide care and support for them in various child care situations.
You will gain skills in:
- Caring for children
- Applying health and hygiene principles
- Understanding legal and ethical requirements
- Providing nutritional needs for babies and children
- Developing and implementing play experiences
- Understanding child development stages
- Working with families and working effectively in a team environment.

Entrance requirements for Traineeships
You must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study an apprenticeship or traineeship.
An traineeship involves full time work with an employer who provides an opportunity to learn all aspects of a trade. This is a structured program for a fixed period of time and while you learn on the job.

Central Regional TAFE has a partnership arrangement with The Royal Life Saving Society Western Australia Inc (RLSSWA) RTO # 0854 to deliver and assess this unit on their behalf. RLSSWA are the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) therefore Central Regional TAFE follows all of RLSSWA’s organisational policies and procedures when delivering and assessing all units of competence. A fee of $19.80 will be paid to RLSSWA for issuance of Certificates/Statements of Attainments.
