Ready for an Apprenticeship?

This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an Engineering Tradesperson - Mechanical specialising in diesel fitting and plant mechanics within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries.

The skills associated with this qualification are intended to apply to a wide range of trade work including manufacturing, assembly and commissioning of mobile and stationary plant, servicing, diagnosis and rectification of faults, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance.

This qualification is designed to provide an industry recognised skills profile related to trade work as a fixed and/or mobile plant mechanic.

Half-price

This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

Certification

Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate III in Engineering - Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic (Mobile Plant Mechanic).

An Apprenticeship course is a full-time employment-based training program usually lasting three (3) to four (4) years.  It combines on-the-job learning with scheduled training blocks at TAFE.  You must have a Training Contract to enrol in an Apprenticeship course.
