When you complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you will be ready to start a rewarding career as a vocational trainer, assessor, or lecturer, either in the private or public sector.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to deliver and assess training, design and develop training programs, present to groups of learners, and participate in assessment moderation and validation.
This qualification meets the legislative requirement for anyone wishing to deliver Training and Assessment for a registered training organisation in Australia. Significant practical or industry experience in your chosen field is also needed.

This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

The TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment requires people entering the program to be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area.
To be able to meet the assessment requirements of many units in this qualification, you'll need access to authentic learning situations and learners in the area of your vocational competence.
Students who decide to enrol MUST complete a Learner Needs Questionnaire. This information and evidence is gathered from learners seeking entry into the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This includes:
- Current or proposed area for teaching and assessment
- Evidence of relevant vocational unit of competency and/or qualification and/or
- Details of industry knowledge and experience
- Access to a group of at least eight individuals to deliver training.

Licensing Information
Achievement of this qualification by trainers is a requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
Certification
Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
