This skill set will broaden the scope of your existing practice and offer up new opportunities, whether you're a ceramicist or potter eager to experiment and explore this art form, or an art teacher or technician looking to complete some professional development in a ceramic’s studio environment. The skill set covers a wide range of creative potential for unique shapes and procedures.

Understand the fundamentals of clay including drying and firing
Basic science and technology of clays and glazes.
Develop new glazes through formulation and testing.
Begin hand building project, apply surface decoration techniques.
