Diploma of Remedial Massage

Do you want a hands-on career?
When you complete the Diploma of Remedial Massage you can become a remedial massage therapist who works with clients presenting with soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance or restrictions in range of motion. Remedial Massage Therapists may be self-employed or work within a larger health service.
In this qualification students will conduct and complete different types of massage including deep tissue, trigger point, manual lymph drainage myofascial and also includes specialised treatments working people with chronic health disease. Students will work on a variety of clients from the community.
This course is half price for everyone as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more about half price fees here.

Work placement
Students will have the opportunity to practice their skills in the Central Regional TAFE student massage clinic where you will apply your knowledge and treatment skills and meet the 200 hours of clinical supervised practice.
Important information
On completion you will be eligible to apply for all private health care provider numbers (including Medibank) through nationally accredited massage associations. This gives your clients the ability to claim their massage treatment through their private health cover.

VET Student Loans
This qualification is eligible for the Commonwealth Government's VET Student Loan scheme. Eligible students can opt to defer the payment of all or part of their tuition fees by applying for a VET Student Loan. VET Student Loans will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements. Approved loans become a personal debt with the Commonwealth (HELP debt) until it is repaid.

Delivery location, important dates and study options
Training at CRTAFE will be offered with a blended, flexible delivery model to enable social distancing measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. This approach may include a combination of online and classroom based delivery, as well as practical and work experience placements. While the mode of delivery may vary, the content and key learning outcomes of the course will remain the same. Lecturers will provide specific instructions to their student groups on how training will be undertaken and the support available to them.
