  • Metalliferous Mining
    The Metalliferous Mining sector involves surface and underground mining of metals such as iron ore, copper, tin, gold, silver, nickel and zinc. Train with us and open the door to career opportunities as a Metalliferous Mine Manager and further industry qualifications such as Quarry Manager Certificate and Underground Supervisor Certificate.

    Central Regional TAFE is one of the only training providers in Australia to deliver an Advanced Diploma of Metalliferous Mining. In this course, you will gain practical training and theoretical knowledge to prepare you to perform a broad range of specialised tasks as a metalliferous mine manager. You will learn how to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems.

  • Surface Extraction Operations
    Get qualified for a range of employment opportunities in open-cut mines or quarries with a course in Surface Extraction Operations. You will gain practical skills and know-how to perform a broad range of tasks in a varied work context. Learn how to select suitable equipment, services or contingency measures and operate specialised mining equipment to a high level of proficiency.
  • Surface Operations Management
    Take a course in Surface Operations Management and learn the practical skills and knowledge to lead and supervise operations involved in the extraction of materials in an open cut mining operation. Once you complete this course you’ll be able to demonstrate a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills and you’ll have the skills to implement safety management plans.
  • Project Management
    A course in project management will give you a practical understanding of projects so that you can effectively manage your own projects from start to finish. Designed for people working in projects across several industries including mining, this course will teach you why some projects work and others fail and prepare you to effectively delegate team roles and responsibilities.
