Safely use a chainsaw

This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a hand-held chainsaw and maintain it in working condition.

Topics covered include:

  • OHS - Duty of Care
  • Personal protective equipment and clothing
  • Chainsaw components and functions
  • General maintenance tasks/tensions
  • Correct start-up procedures
  • Safe techniques for crosscutting and felling

When you complete the Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management you will be ready for a career as a conservation worker, parks and wildlife ranger, or bush restoration worker.

You will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the land conservation industry, maintaining natural areas and wetlands, providing cultural knowledge, revegetation programs, planting shrubs and trees, treating weeds, collecting seeds, and workplace safety and health.

Working in the Conservation and Land Management industry is for people who would love to work in an outdoor environment and recognise the value in restoration of natural bushland and coastal areas.
