Car air conditioning is no longer about rolling down two windows and driving fast!

When you complete the Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology you'll have what employers are looking for as an apprentice automotive air conditioning specialist. You will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the automotive industry servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, retrofitting and modifying, diagnosing and repairing faults, and workplace safety and health.

This qualification will be offered over a four day Block with credit transfer or RPL offered for the vehicle servicing component within the Certificate II in Automotive Technology.

Please note this qualification may be accessed by direct entry and will be offered to participants already holding competencies in a Certificate III in Automotive Servicing Technology.

Steer yourself towards a future in the Automotive industry!

This hands on entry level course will equip you to service your own car or gain the skills to become an apprentice in all the automotive trade areas, such as light vehicle mechanic, heavy and plant mechanic, panel beating, spray painting and automotive electrician.

Learn skills to carry out servicing operations, inspecting and servicing engines, steering and suspension systems, carry out repairs to single electrical circuits as well as maintaining workplace tools and equipment. You will also learn how to apply safe work practices and apply basic automotive troubleshooting processes.

The Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is an apprenticeship you must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study.

RIIVEH305E Operate and Maintain a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle

This course is designed for users who are required to learn how to drive, control and manage a vehicle under hazardous or operational conditions. In order to undertake this short course you must hold a current C Class License recognised in the state of Western Australia. It is preferred that students have some experience with driving on unsealed roads but this is not essential.

Students will learn to competently drive vehicles safely, including the systematic, safe and efficient control of all vehicles functions and effective management of hazardous situations under operational conditions. It will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a 4WD vehicle.

The course will cover:

•    introduction to 4WD Vehicles
•    compliance documentation
•    plan for minimal environmental impact
•    conduct Routine checks
•    plan journey
•    4WD inspection checklist
•    drive the 4WD
•    recover a 4WD using a snatch-strap
•    use a jack
•    conduct routine maintenance, and
•    conclude operations

This is a nationally recognised unit of competency and upon successful completion you will receive a Statement of Attainment.
