Are you looking for a career making and fixing all things mechanical?

When you complete the Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter and Machinist ZB) you'll be looking at a trades career as a machinist metal, mechanical fitter, metal plater or plant mechanic in industries such as mining, automotive, or hydraulics.

You will gain the skills and knowledge to make machines, parts, and tools, work with pumps and hydraulics, using workshop machines, hand and power tools, mills and lathes, arc welding, measuring, technical drawing, and workplace health and safety.

Learn the basics of welding. 

Gain the basic skills and knowledge required to cut, weld and bend materials in the resources and infrastructure industries.

Topics covered include:

• plan and prepare to cut, weld and bend materials
• set up and test equipment
• cut materials using oxyacetylene
• cut and weld materials using electric welding equipment
• heat and bend material
• shut down and clean up

Join us for one of our fun community and hobby short courses.

In this course you will learn how to arc weld mild steel safely and confidently using recycled materials. You will learn how to create garden ornaments, carry out repair jobs around the home and have solid introduction to welding. 

All safety equipment and resources will be provided.
