Fashion is a high intensity industry favouring designers who are versatile and creative problem solvers with good communication skills and network. Studying fashion will develop you so that you area able to produce unique ranges of garments and accessories for the marketplace. You will develop skills in fashion illustration and drawing skills, digital design, marketing, pattern making and garment construction. Along the way you will gain knowledge and skills in areas such as fabric technology, textiles, history of design and computer generated design. You’ll also cover topics including premium brand management and marketing and fashion trade and promotion, and fashion business development.

Are you interested in sewing and would like to get creative? 

In this course you will gain the skills and knowledge required to design, plan and produce a simple garment.  You will use a domestic sewing machine or a plain lock stitch machine. 

This course is suited for beginners with no experience and for those wanting to upskill.

In these unprecedented times, new regulations need workers in retail businesses to manage infection control. This skill set provides those working in the retail industry with the skills and knowledge to confidently minimise the risk of infections in the workplace for themselves and customers.

Skills can be applied to specific retail industry needs such as stand alone stores, shopping centres, cinemas and game arcades, petrol stations and convenience stores, supermarkets, retail areas within beauty salons, hairdressing salons, barbers and sporting facilities including gyms, markets and museums and galleries.

Are you looking for a little motivation as well as the opportunity to have some dedicated time away from distractions?  Social sewing is the perfect opportunity for those who love sewing to get together and have fun while creating your own project.  This social sewing class is aimed at women who want to make the gentle transition back into an education and training environment and develop skills in a supportive environment. 

You will need:

  • Basic level of sewing experience
  • Sewing tools (thread, pins,scissors etc.)
  • Patterns and fabric
  • Own project to work on

Sewing machines and over lockers are provided along with irons, ironing board, cutting tables and mats.
