Make your own jewellery 

This introductory course is aimed at jewellery hobbyists with the basic skills to make jewellery at home.  Learn various techniques and create jewellery pieces from simple design concepts.

This jewellery making skill set is a great precursor to further study in Jewellery and Object Design or further study in visual arts.

Create contemporary polymer clay jewellery to take home with you 

In this course you will explore a range of polymer clay processes and techniques to create contemporary polymer clay jewellery. 

Polymer clay is a sculpting medium which originated in Germany over 50 years ago and  can be used in a variety of different ways. The basics of using polymer clay will be covered in this course from conditioning to curing clay. Students will also learn:

  • Techniques such as carving, using molds, heat crackle, silkscreening and texture
  • Basic jewellery design and stringing options 
  • Introduction to a variety of art products that work beautifully with polymer clay

Make your own silver jewellery 

Learn the skills and knowledge to create simple silver and metal jewellery in this beginner course. Using a range of techniques, you will learn to develop your own ideas about design and style. At the completion of this course you will get to take home your own sterling silver creations.

Topics covered include:

  • How to accurately measure and saw silver and other metals
  • Filing, hammering, texturising and forging metals
  • How to safely solder
  • Polishing and finishing jewellery pieces
  • Theory 

No previous experience required.
