A  Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy will give you the skills to work as a beauty therapist and provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services, including lash and brow treatments, nail services, make-up, massage and waxing. You will also learn a broad range of skilled applications, including requirements to evaluate and analyse current practices, develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and some provision of leadership and guidance to others in the application and planning of skills.

If you are passionate about the beauty industry and would like to obtain the most comprehensive, internationally recognised qualification available, this course could be the perfect one for you!

You will learn to apply a full range of face and body treatments. You will learn skills in a broad range of beauty therapy treatments and services that include facials, specialised facials, body massage, waxing, lash and brow treatments, make-up, aromatherapy, spray tan, lash extensions and skills in retail and sales operations. You will also learn about reflexology, Indian head massage, hot stone massage and micro-dermabrasion.

The Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in the make-up and cosmetic retail industry. You will acquire basic skills in workplace communication, client interaction, demonstrating and selling make-up and retail skin care products, and performing routine salon or store functions. It gives you the skills to work as a freelance make-up artist or in conjunction with a photographer or cosmetic surgeon in the area of Remedial Camouflage Make-up, at a cosmetic counter, within a salon or a day spa. This qualification also prepares you for the basics within the film industry.

The Certificate II in Leadership can be customised to a specific industry or community environment and also provides the clients with the necessary employability skill which will support their transition to work, further education and community participation.

SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant

This is a preparatory qualification which provides a defined and limited range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who provide assistance with client services. These routine and repetitive tasks are completed under direct supervision and with guidance from hairdressers who manage the client service.

The combined skills and knowledge do not provide for a job outcome as a hairdresser and this qualification is intended to prepare individuals for further training.
