Learn basic first aid for animals and pets.
This course is suitable for those interested working in animal care and pet owners, in particularly for dog and cat owners .
Topics covered include:
- Safe animal handling
- Basic anatomy of animals
- How to perform a physical exam
- Life threatening medical conditions
- Basic first aid including bandaging and CPR
- The animal emergency network
This course includes a half day practical workshop and online learning.
Course Details
Students will have 10 weeks to complete the online component of this course.
This course also includes a one day practical workshop from 9am to 3pm at Northam Campus.
Course Requirements
Students will need Internet access.
Certification
Upon successful completion students will receive a Statement of Attainment.
