Are you interested in further study including University? A Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification from Central Regional TAFE enables you to enrol in a University Degree regardless of your age or high school results. We have articulation arrangements in place with leading Universities in Australia, including Curtin University and Geraldton Universities Centre, enabling students who have achieved their Diploma qualification to gain guaranteed credits into a related Bachelor’s Degree at select Universities.
Having a Central Regional TAFE Diploma and a University Degree will equip you with the best of both worlds for future employment opportunities. Gaining the industry-focused practical skills that Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification provides you with, as well as the academic knowledge that a University program confers will give you an advantage you need when seeking employment.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates with a vet Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification and a University degree qualification are highly sought after by employers in many fields. Employers value the practical skills that vet graduates gain from their Diploma course in addition to the academic knowledge gained for a University degree course.
Personalised Training
One of the advantages of enrolling in a Central Regional TAFE Diploma or Advanced Diploma as a pathway to pursuing a University degree is the small class sizes in our programs. This enables you to get personalised support from lecturers to help build your skills and confidence prior to moving on to University. This is particularly useful to students who may have been away from an academic environment for som time and need to refresh their study skills.
Specialised Support
Central Regional TAFE have a dedicated Client Services team that provide support to students which can include mentoring, tutoring and other academic support.
Affordability
Choosing a Diploma pathway to University could also be a more affordable option as many programs are relatively cheaper than University courses, and are available locally.
Commonwealth Government Loans
If eligible, students may apply for a VET Student Loan to pay tuition fees.
Students Success Stories
Regina Richardson - Winner 2014 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award
"After being outside of a classroom environment for 22 years, the thought of returning to study was daunting. However, after my first lecture [at then Durack Institute] I knew I was in the right place to assist me in reaching my goal. Through the delivery of interactive lectures I was able to discover my strengths and areas of interest. Additionally the Lecturers provided a welcoming, and accepting learning environment where students were encouraged to share their life skills and knowledge. My time at [Durack] led me to create a new goal, which was to attend university. I know the transition from TAFE to University would be different but I did not realise how challenging it would be. Fortunately, the training I received has given me two things; one year credit at university and hands on practical experience in my chosen industry. Vocational Education and Training have had a profound impact on my life. I now have the confidence in knowing, that wherever I choose to work, I have the relevant training to provide the best service to my clients."
