Half price courses

How would you like to get a nationally recognised and accredited qualification but pay only half-price course fees? Sometimes fees are even less than half price. We also have fee caps of $400 for 15-24 year olds or eligible concession students and $1,200 for non-concession students.  

There's a large range of qualifications available, all carefully matched with skills employers are looking for and in industries with a high demand for skilled workers. 

More about the fees cap

Lower fees Local Skills half-price qualifications are free for everyone, but it gets better! There's an annual fee cap as well. This means that regardless of how much your course fees actually are, you will not pay more than a set total amount per qualification or course per year. The fees cap is set at $400 for eligible concession students and $1,200 for non-concession students.

Stage 2 comprises of units which relate specifically to the specialist areas of these qualifications in the areas of Counselling, Community Development and Youth Work.

This work may be undertaken through employment in community, government and welfare agencies.

CHC51015 | Diploma of Counselling(opens in a new tab)  (*Not a half price qualification)

This qualification reflects the role of counsellors, who work with clients on personal and psychological issues using established counselling modalities. They use communication, micro-counselling and interviewing skills and draw on varied counselling therapies to assist clients. At this level, the counsellor will be working in defined and supported counselling roles in established agencies rather than in independent practice. 

If learners complete all the units on the timetable, plus have completed CHC40413 Certificate IV in Youth Work and CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services, they will gain certification in CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services, CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling and CHC51413 Diploma of Youth Work.
