Central Regional TAFE’s (CRTAFE) annual Reconciliation Week celebrations will be offered in a new way this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Students and staff have come together to ensure the significance of the week is still celebrated this year, despite not being able to proceed with usual on-campus events.

CRTAFE will showcase a variety of projects and initiatives to mark 20 years of Reconciliation Week celebrations, via various online and social media platforms.

Due to the evolving situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Central Regional TAFE (CRTAFE) will not proceed with planned student graduation and award events across all campuses this year.

Following the Australian Government’s attendance restrictions on major gatherings, the decision was made to not proceed in order to minimise risk to students, staff and guests and to adhere to current health recommendations; an approach which is consistent across all Western Australian TAFE colleges.

Central Regional TAFE (CRTAFE) is expecting a growth in attendance at their annual Enrolment Days this year.

Starting next week at the Geraldton campus, the annual Enrolment Days give prospective students an opportunity to meet with a variety of lecturers and TAFE staff, see what’s available and have all of their questions answered.

On the day, attendees can tour campus facilities, check out the student services offered and get a feel of what they can expect when studying at TAFE.

It’s good news all-round at Central Regional TAFE’s (CRTAFE) Northam Campus with three Diploma of Enrolled Nursing graduates successfully obtaining post graduate positions at three prestigious Perth hospitals.

Amongst hundreds of applicants applying for these highly regarded tertiary programs, Jessica Douglas and Niamh Wooster have both been offered positions at St John of God in Midland and Subiaco, and Sarah Bennett has been accepted into the Fiona Stanley Peri-Operative program.

Central Regional TAFE (CRTAFE) recently hosted events at their Kalgoorlie, Geraldton and Northam campuses to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).

IDPwD is a United Nations sanctioned day that is celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.
