Six CRTAFE students receive Collgar Windfarm Scholarships

Central Regional TAFE is proud to announce that six students from the Merredin campus have been selected to receive a Collgar Windfarm Scholarship.

Collgar Wind Farm is a $750 million renewable power project at Merredin in Western Australia’s central Wheatbelt. The Collgar Wind Farm 2018 Scholarship was open to students wanting to enrol in nationally recognized training at CR TAFE, who have a connection to the Shire of Merredin and surrounding communities.

Acting Managing Director Jo Payne said Central Regional TAFE was proud of its partnership with the Collgar Wind Farm, who are committed to supporting the local community.

“Collgar are very supportive of the local Merredin community and surrounding Shires providing direct financial support to a number of local initiatives,” Ms Payne said.

“I want to thank Collgar for choosing to support our students for another year and congratulate all the successful applicants.”

The successful students were Bronwyn Morgan, Kari Ratima, Jabry Boneham and Stacey Kermode who are studying Certificate III in Education Support, Sylvia Kraske who is studying Certificate IV in Education Support and Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology student Marin Cukela.

Bronwyn Morgan said she was very excited about winning the scholarship and really appreciated the opportunity.

“I applied because it has been over 20 years since I’ve studied and I have seven children, my circumstances make it quite difficult to study” she said.

Jabry Boneham said being a successful applicant makes her feel more confident about studying.

“I feel really good about it, I was really excited”, she said.

Central Regional TAFE has an extensive scholarship program in partnership with various organisations. For further information on scholarship opportunities visit www.centralregionaltafe.wa.edu.au/future%20students/scholarships
