Great news for students enrolling in 2025! The Western Australian Government has announced its continued commitment to deliver fee free TAFE and vocational education and training (VET) places in 2025.
The Western Australian and Australian Governments have signed a Fee Free TAFE Agreement to deliver more fee free training to Western Australians in priority industry sectors.
Premier Roger Cook and Minister for Training, Simone McGurk, made the announcement on November 12, 2025, expressing once again their enthusiasm for this program. “This partnership between the State and Commonwealth Government will add seven building and construction courses to the fee free list for 2025" says Premier Roger Cook, and Minister for Training, Simone McGurk to add “Providing these additional fee free training opportunities, in these crucial building and construction courses will mean more Western Australians – especially young people – can get the fundamental skills they need to get started in the sector’s workforce.”
In 2025, fee free training will continue to be available across hundreds of courses, with all Western Australians eligible to access the program through TAFE colleges and selected private training providers throughout the state.
Fee free places will continue to build Western Australia’s workforce to help meet the demands of priority industry areas including early childhood education and care; health care; aged and disability care; technology and increasing digital skills; hospitality and tourism; construction and agriculture.
Western Australians are set to save up to $1,425 in tuition fees in comparison to 2024 costs, when enrolling in the new fee free building and construction courses, helping to reduce the financial barriers for people to engage in vocational training.
First Nations people, young people, people out of work or receiving income support, unpaid carers, people with disability, and women facing economic insecurity are particularly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for tuition fee free training.
Applications are now open for FEE FREE courses in 2025.
