We have over 300 courses in a range of industry areas, all offering various ways to study. Once you have selected a course follow the application process below.

How do I apply?

The application process varies depending on the course you have selected. 

Full-time | Face-to-face courses

A majority of these courses are considered popular, competitive or in demand - meaning prospective students have to apply through TAFE Admissions (a system used by all TAFE's in WA to process student applications for popular courses). Round one applications for Semester 1, 2020 opens on Monday 2 September.  See below for more information on the TAFE Admissions process. 

Part-time | Flexible | Online courses

You can apply for these courses via our student application portal. See below for more information.

Short courses 

You can apply for these courses by contacting your local campus directly on 1800 672 700 or the course coordinator listed on the course page Important Information section. 

Other courses

More information for those who would like to do an apprenticeship, traineeship or enrol in a VET course whilst still at school can be found below.

2020 - Full-time | Face-to-face courses

You can change your preferences by logging into TAFE Admissions here

Up to this date, you can:

  1. Add new preferences, for any course
  2. Change the order of the preferences
  3. Cancel preferences
  4. Change the campus of an existing preference

2019 & 2020 - Part-time | Flexible | Online courses

You can apply for these courses via our student application portal. Once you know what you would like to study applying is a easy as the  four simple steps:

Step 1: Register

If you are a new student applying to study at Central Regional TAFE for the first time you will need to register for a student ID (follow the drop down instructions below). If you are a current student continuing your studies or have studied with us in the past then you can go straight to Step 2.

Step 2: Apply

Once you have decided what course you want to do, and how you want to study you can log into the student portal and apply for a course online by following the links and instructions below. As part of your application you will be asked a few simple questions about your eduction and training history.

Step 3: Offer

Once your application is complete a member of our Student Services team will be in touch to discuss the outcome of your application and with an OFFER for enrolment. On some occasions and for certain courses you may be required to attend a campus to discuss your application and eligibility with a lecturer before an offer can be made.

Step 4. Enrol

You will be notified of what you need to do to accept your offer and finalise your enrolment.

If you are a current student and are moving on with your studies or have studied at Central Regional TAFE in the past you can apply for a course via the Student Portal link on the myPortal page.

General Enrolments Days

At the start of each semester General Enrolment days are held at some of our campuses. General Enrolments days for the general public to enrol in courses which still have places available. Courses with available places will be advertised in local newspapers, radio, social media and on this website. Our client services team at every campus are open Mon-Fri | 8am-5pm and able to assist with enquiries and the enrolment process.

Moora, Merredin, Carnarvon and Exmouth Campuses: Enrolment days are not held at these campuses, however you can visit client services in main administration between Mon-Fri | 8am-5pm for assistance and to enrol.

When you visit us on our general enrolment days you will be able to:

  • Speak to a lecturer for more info about your course.
  • Check your eligibility for financial assistance and other fee payment options with our student support team.
  • Arrange payment of fees.
  • Complete and confirm your enrolment.
  • Create your Unique Student Identifier.
  • Find out when your course starts and what resources you will need.

To assist us with making your enrolment experience a smooth one, please ensure you have the following:

  • Proof of age (birth certificate, school student id card, a learners permit photo ID or any other document that shows your full name and date of birth);
  • A current concession card if you receive a Centrelink payment; and
  • Your school certificate or other academic records/certificates.
Unique Student Identifier

All students enrolled at TAFE require a Unique Student Identifier. Find out more here

Frequently asked questions?

Is there a cut off date for enrolling in a course?

No. Central Regional TAFE accepts expressions of interest for studying with us all year round. If a course has commenced or has no available positions our client services team will assist in finding a suitable option for you.

How much does it cost to apply for a course at TAFE?

There are no charges for applying to do a course or to change your preferences. Fees are payable to TAFE colleges upon confirmation of enrolment.

Third Party Providers
On occasion Central Regional TAFE may engage the services of another organisation in the delivery and/or assessment of your course. When this happens we will let you know up-front and ensure that you receive the quality training delivery and/or assessment services that you expect.
