VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS)

Set yourself up for when you finish school!

We offer number of Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) programs for year 11 and 12 students attending school. Our programs provide you with a nationally recognised VET qualification whilst completing your Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). It is also a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of a specific career pathway and develop industry specific skills which will get you ready for the workplace.

VETDSS pathways are the perfect introduction into the world of work. You will have the opportunity to learn in an adult environment with students of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Attendance is usually one or two days a week and attend school for the remainder of the week as normal.

You will learn practical skills in year 11 and 12 while gaining an insight into the needs of the workplace. Success in your program can lead to employment or give you a head start in further studies and other nationally recognised qualifications.

    Pre-Apprenticeship/Traineeship in Schools (PATiS)

If you are in year 11 or 12, the PATiS program involves attending school, completing a Certificate II Pre-Apprenticeship/Traineeship qualification with us, and completing work placements with at least two employers.

Graduate Year 12 with your WACE, a Pre-Apprenticeship/Traineeship in your chosen field and be a step ahead of others looking for apprenticeships. Gaining apprenticeships/traineeships can be highly competitive and employers look favourably at the candidate who already has a proven track record of study, demonstrated the capacity to apply themselves to a formal TAFE course and can understand the practices and terminology associated with the trade in question, ahead of others in their age range.
