FIREARMS HANDLING AND SAFETY

Participants will be provided with the knowledge and skills to effectively select, use and maintain firearms and ammunition. Learn about Firearms Licensing and Firearm Legislation, the legal storage and access requirements.

During the course participants will:

  • gain knowledge and understanding of firearms safety and skills to use firearms effectively;
  • gain knowledge and understanding of Western Australian Firearms Legislation;
  • develop an understanding of the purpose and use of firearms in a local government organisation; - understand the importance to record firearms dealings and details legally, clearly and accurately;
  • demonstrate knowledge and understanding of firearms, ammunition and ballistics;
  • demonstrate how to use a variety of firearms, their ammunition and cleaning requirements;
  • gain knowledge of the process of humanely dispatching a variety of animals, shot placement and follow up procedure; and
  • demonstrate their ability to apply firearms knowledge to their workplace requirements.

This training is essential for anyone who is required to use firearms in their workplace either under a workplace Corporate License or Open License.

Upon completion of the course you will receive a Certificate of Participation.
