Certificate III in Rural and Environmental Pest Management

Become qualified in rural and environmental pest management 

This qualification  the skills and knowledge required for pest management contractors, pest management field officers, vertebrate pest management field officers and weed management field officers in the pest management industry. This includes those who work in weed management as well as vertebrate pest management in conservation, land management, horticulture and agriculture settings.

  • Students will need to have experience and or be working in the industry.  If students are not currently working in the industry, they will need to have access to a workplace approved by the assessor.

You will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the land conservation industry, operating machinery, recognising flora and fauna, planting shrubs and trees, organising propagation, restoring and maintaining wildlife habitat refuges, treating weeds, safely handling chemicals, collecting seeds, and implementing workplace safety and health measures.

This qualification is offered as a dual certificate along with the Certificate II in Horticulture at our Geraldton Campus.

This qualification is eligible for the Commonwealth Government's VET Student Loan scheme. Eligible students can opt to defer the payment of all or part of their tuition fees by applying for a VET Student Loan. VET Student Loans will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements. Approved loans become a personal debt with the Commonwealth (HELP debt) until it is repaid.
