Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. 

This course is suitable for those who may be required to provide CPR in a range of situations including community and workplace settings. 

Topics covered include: 

  • Recognising and responding to an emergency situation 
  • Performing CPR as per guidelines 
  • How to correctly use an automated external defibrillator

A fulfilling career helping children grow and develop

This diploma will provide you with the skills and knowledge to manage the operation of a child care centre where you would be responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services (0-5 years), in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. You would also supervise staff and volunteers.

During this course you will learn to provide care and meet the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings.

This qualification is eligible for the Commonwealth Government's VET Student Loan scheme. Eligible students can opt to defer the payment of all or part of their tuition fees by applying for a VET Student Loan. VET Student Loans will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements. Approved loans become a personal debt with the Commonwealth (HELP debt) until it is repaid.

Please note that Central Regional TAFE has a partnership arrangement with The Royal Life Saving Society Western Australia Inc (RLSSWA) RTO # 0854 to deliver and assess First Aid (HLTAID004) on their behalf. RLSSWA are the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) therefore Central Regional TAFE follows all of RLSSWA’s organisational policies and procedures when delivering and assessing all units of competence. This course is available as a Traineeship.

Entrance requirements for Traineeships

You must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study an apprenticeship or traineeship. 

An traineeship involves full time work with an employer who provides an opportunity to learn all aspects of a trade. This is a structured program for a fixed period of time and while you learn on the job.

Some of the benefits of a Traineeship are that you can:

  • Earn a wage while you train
  • Learn on the job skills combined with off the job training
  • Receive a nationally recognised qualification on successful completion
  • Start a valuable step towards a rewarding career path.
