Would you like to work with children helping to enhance their learning in a school environment?

With a Certificate IV in Education Support you will gain the knowledge required to support students and assist teachers' education programs, with a focus on supporting students with additional needs, learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours. You will have the opportunity to undertake a wide variety of tasks in the classroom and school setting to contextualise this knowledge and improve your practical skills.

Education Environment requires a National Police History Check (over 18’s)   -   from the Department of Education and Training W.A. Check the website - http://www.det.wa.edu.au/screening/detcms/portal/

Please note that the National Police History Check clearance must be current (six months old or less at the time of Work Placement.

Work placement

A Work Placement must be undertaken as part of this course. A total of 230 hours of work placement and associated activities over two placements of 15 days will include practical skills development, written evidence tasks, resource development and collaboration with a supervising teacher or mentor.

Important information

Please note that our Geraldton Campus does not offer a Semester 2 intake for this qualification.

Enrolments for Semester 2 are available at our Carnarvon Campus.

When you complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment you will be ready to start a rewarding career as a vocational trainer, assessor, or lecturer, either in the private or public sector.

A qualification in children’s services can be very rewarding and engaging as you become part of a child’s growth and development and help them learn in an environment that is engaging and supporting. Our courses will provide you with the basic skills needed to assist in caring for the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings – through to the skills and knowledge to manage the operation of a child care centre.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work effectively in Local Government.
You will learn to perform a broad range of skilled applications including the requirement to evaluate and analyse current practices, develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices and provide some leadership and guidance to others.

Gain the necessary skills to build a career framework using labour market information for culturally diverse clients under the guidance of legal responsibilities. Throughout this course you’ll learn how to provide a range of programs and services to individuals and groups to support them in planning their career and/or locating, securing and maintaining suitable employment.
