Entrance Requirements

Students that are required by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) to provide a formal English language skills test when applying for registration, must provide a formal English language test result demonstrating they have achieved the NMBA specified level of English language skills, prior to commencement of the program.

Students are required to provide evidence of having sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to successfully undertake the program's academic and workplace experience requirements, prior to commencing the program.

As part of the application for this course you will be required to sit and pass a government approved test of literacy and numeracy using the LLN Robot program to ensure you have an appropriate literacy and numeracy level.

A National Police Clearance, Working with Children Card, WA Health Criminal Screening, Senior First Aid Certificate and a medical screening with specific immunisations are required prior to undertaking the practical components of this course.

A Work Placement of 410 hours must be undertaken as part of this course.

Additional Requirements

Students completing this qualification are eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) has specific requirements for registration relating to English Language Skills, Criminal history, Recency of practice, Continuing professional development and Professional indemnity insurance arrangements. Registration standards define the requirements that applicants, registrants or students need to meet to be registered. Detailed information is published on the NMBA website.

Licensing Outcomes

Successful completion of this qualification will make you eligible for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.

VET Student Loans

This qualification is eligible for the Commonwealth Government's VET Student Loan scheme. Eligible students can opt to defer the payment of all or part of their tuition fees by applying for a VET Student Loan. VET Student Loans will not be approved for students who do not meet eligibility requirements. Approved loans become a personal debt with the Commonwealth (HELP debt) until it is repaid.

First Aid - HLTAID003

Central Regional TAFE has a partnership arrangement with The Royal Life Saving Society Western Australia Inc (RLSSWA) RTO # 0854 to deliver and assess this unit on their behalf. RLSSWA are the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) therefore Central Regional TAFE follows all of RLSSWA’s organisational policies and procedures when delivering and assessing all units of competence. A fee of $19.80 will be paid to RLSSWA for issuance of Certificates/statements of attainments.

These courses provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to perform a full range of hairdressing services including fundamental and creative haircutting, styling, colouring, perming and straightening on male and female clients. You’ll also learn to perform reception duties such as making appointments and writing up client record cards, and client consultation and advice.

Therapeutic massage is increasingly becoming a part of our fast paced lives and the need for skilled practitioners is growing with it. You will assess a client’s massage needs and perform therapeutic massage based on a knowledge of the structure of the human body and using a range of soft tissue massage techniques.

If you are interested in pursuing a career as a professional athlete, you can join the athlete development program and concentrate on training in your specialist sport.
