GovHack Skills Set

Join the largest open data hackathon in the southern hemisphere.

GovHack is an international event which attracts thousands of participants each year who come together in simultaneous events taking place in major and regional cities across the country.

The event requires competitors to work in small teams during the 46 hour event to produce a ‘hack’ using Australian government data. Teams are judged on the production of a three minute video explaining their idea and its future potential.

Games development is a relatively new and dynamic growth industry that has developed out of a blending of creative and technical production. There is a strong focus on the design, development and programming of digital games. Learn how to produce an interactive game, write a story and content for digital games, and develop high level 3D modelling, rendering and interactivity skills.

General IT courses cover skills and knowledge required to work with digital and communications devices or applications including computers and computer networks, hardware and software. Information technology training pathways can build general computing skills in a range of IT disciplines, including network administration and management, website design and development, mobile apps development, games design, 3D animations, and software development.
