Geraldton Campus Creche

Supporting families while supporting future educators

The Geraldton Campus Creche provides a safe, engaging and welcoming environment for young children while giving Early Childhood Education and Care students valuable hands-on experience in a supervised learning setting.

Located at Central Regional TAFE's Geraldton campus, the creche helps support students, staff, visitors and community members who are attending the campus. Children can participate in play-based learning activities while future educators develop practical skills under the guidance of experienced early childhood professionals.

Every visit creates meaningful learning opportunities for students studying Early Childhood Education and Care while providing a valuable service for families visiting the Geraldton campus.

Supporting real-world learning

At Central Regional TAFE, practical experience is an important part of student success.

The Geraldton Campus Creche provides Early Childhood Education and Care students with opportunities to apply their learning in a real-world environment. Students develop practical skills in planning activities, supporting children's development, building relationships with families and creating positive learning experiences.

Working alongside qualified educators helps students build confidence, gain industry experience and prepare for rewarding careers supporting children and families.

About the creche

The creche welcomes children aged six months and older and provides access to educational resources, toys, books and activities designed to support learning and play.

The facility is open to anyone visiting the Geraldton campus, not just Central Regional TAFE students and staff. Visitors using the creche are required to remain on campus during their child's visit.

Children can enjoy a variety of age-appropriate educational activities in a welcoming and engaging environment. The creche is equipped with resources designed to support children's learning, development and creativity.

The creche is operated by Diploma and Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care students under the supervision of fully qualified Central Regional TAFE staff with extensive industry experience.

Please bring suitable food for your child, appropriate footwear, a change of clothes, a sun-safe hat, nappies if required and a gold coin donation.

The creche operates on Mondays and Wednesdays, subject to availability, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm during school terms.

Supporting student success

Every child who attends the creche helps create valuable learning opportunities for future early childhood educators.

Students gain practical experience working with children, supporting learning and development, planning educational activities and building professional skills in a real-world setting.

Working alongside children and families helps students develop the confidence, capability and practical knowledge needed to succeed in the early childhood education and care sector.
