Advance your career in the automotive industry. When you complete Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology you will have the skills and knowledge to work effectively in the automotive industry servicing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, retrofitting and modifying, diagnosing and repairing faults, whilst learning to work safely in the workplace.
This qualification offers a credit transfer or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the vehicle servicing component within the Certificate II in Automotive Technology.
Please note: Central Regional TAFE offers this as a standalone course for apprentices completing AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Technology or AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology and/or to existing tradespersons
Some things you'll learn:
- How to test and repair basic electric circuits
- How to diagnose, repair, retrofit and modify air conditioning and HVAC systems
- How to carry out diagnostic procedures, as well as a range of other tasks.
This course is right for you if:

This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

Please note: Students must be at least a Stage 3 Apprentice in the Automotive Mechanical Trade or a qualified mechanic in order to enrol in this qualification.
Upon enrolment you will be required to apply for a Trainee Licence from Australian Refrigeration Council.
Please note: At our Geraldton Campus this is qualification is delivered as a short course over a 5-day duration and will be delivered at varying times throughout the year.
Certification
Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology.
