With this Certificate II you will learn to identify and inspect mechanical and electrical components as well as systems of light vehicles, heavy vehicles and outdoor power equipment. This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge required to perform minor maintenance and repair of an automotive vehicle body.

You will learn:

  • To use and maintain tools and equipment in an automotive workplace and use and maintain measuring tools,
  • How to dismantle, tag and service engines,
  • The safety and environmental relevant legislation and workshop practice,
  • How to resolve routine problems in an automotive workplace and communicate effectively in an automotive workplace.

To attain this qualification, you are required to successfully complete twelve (12) units of competence, comprising seven (7) core and five (5) elective units selected from the options provided below.
