Set the foundations for a solid career in an in-demand industry.

Please note, this course can only be accessed by an employed apprentice, if this course interests you, please speak to your employer or employment agency about signing up as an apprentice.

When you complete the Certificate III in Carpentry you will be ready for a career as a domestic or commercial carpenter.

You will gain the knowledge and skills to carry out a range of building and construction tasks; use basic carpentry tools, power tools, carpentry materials; construct a pitched roof, ceiling frame, wooden flooring; interpret plans; and apply work health and safety requirements.

This course is half price for everyone (excl. school students) as part of the Lower Fees, Local Skills initiative. Fees are also capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession. Find out more here.

OLNA or NAPLAN 9 Band 8 C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths or equivalent Certificate I or Certificate II

Students must be indentured apprentices with a registered training contract for this trade

      Certification

      Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate III in Carpentry.

      This apprenticeship course is a full-time employment-based training program over 3 - 4 years.  Learners will attend TAFE for scheduled face-to-face classes and practical workshops in blocks over a 3 year training period. 

      You must have a Training Contract to enrol in an Apprenticeship course.
