Central Regional TAFE (CR TAFE) hosted two graduation ceremonies in the Gascoyne region this week, celebrating the achievements of graduating students and outstanding achievement award winners. The graduation ceremonies also recognise the hard work and dedication shown by students in completing their training.
This year almost 50 Carnarvon residents completed their training with CR TAFE, with almost 30 Exmouth students graduating in their chosen industry field.
Celebrations in Carnarvon were held at Carnarvon Yacht Club on Tuesday 21 November. Aboriginal Student of the Year Shandell Kelly and Most Dedicated Student, Lynley Barron both graduated in the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing). Their outstanding achievement awards mean they are well placed to make valuable contributions to the local workforce. Vocational Student of the Year was awarded to Janet Peterson, a graduate in the Certificate III in Tourism.
The Exmouth Yacht Club was the venue for the presentation of awards for students graduating from the College’s Exmouth Campus on Wednesday 22 November. Certificate IV in Business graduate, Jane Iliffe took home the Best Overall Performance Award, Certificate III in Individual Support graduate Rebecca Carter was recognised as the Most Dedicated Student, and Certificate III in Maritime Operations graduate Theodore Campbell was announced as the Maritime Student of the Year.
Graduates with Maritime qualifications continued to dominate the field this year, reinforcing CR TAFE’s dedication to supporting the needs of the maritime industry in the Gascoyne region.
Central Regional TAFE Managing Director, Jo Payne praised students for their hard work and efforts throughout the year.
“The Graduation and Awards events in Carnarvon and Exmouth are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate success and this year we’ve seen students from both campuses excel beyond expectations throughout their learning journey,” she said.
“Our students continue to impress with their dedication and determination to complete their training. Their accomplishments set them on solid pathways for future careers and inspire their community to follow their lead.”
