Education and Community Services

Each individual that makes up a community is an important member of society and should have a right to a fair go at paving their own path. Everyone’s experience is different, and sometimes, some people need a little bit of assistance to get to where they need to be in their life.

If you are interested in a career that is rewarding and fulfilling, giving you opportunities to empower clients on the day-to-day, studying to become a community services worker might be the right road to take.

As a community services worker, you will find that you will be working closely with people in order to identify the type of support they need to live an enriched life. This can entail social, emotional, psychological, or practical support that, when put into place, help individuals to achieve their goals, no matter what they may be.

Whether your clients want to have better fitness, more chances at socialisation with their peers, or access to health practitioners, assisting people to access these community services can make a big difference in people’s lives.

You will find that studying community services courses at TAFE can not only open the doors to a challenging and exciting role, but one that helps you make people’s lives brighter, too.

You will be able to work in a range of sectors upon completion. Our graduates have found positions in:

  • childcare,
  • disability,
  • aged care,
  • youth work,
  • and other community support services.

Upon completion of the diploma qualification, you will be qualified to work as:

  • a support worker,
  • or a caseworker, working with clients closely to meet positive outcomes and make the community a better place to live.

Wanting to make a difference? It all starts here, at Central Regional TAFE. Our programs are designed to give you the skills and knowledge that you will need to help empower others in this sector.
