Our Kalgoorlie Campus Hair and Beauty Training Salon is a state-of-the-art facility that simulates a real-life workplace environment giving students the opportunity to develop their skills and hands-on practical experience via a fully operational hairdressing and beauty therapy salon.
The beauty clinic is open to the public during each semester, and hairdressing students/apprentices are always in need of models to complete their assessments.

Complete the Certificate III in Hairdressing and be a cut above the rest.
This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to cut hair using clippers or scissors, to shampoo, condition and rinse hair and dry and style hair using brushes, combs, rollers and other equipment. You will also learn skills to operate a cash register and computer, perform reception duties such as answering telephone calls, making appointments as well as writing up client record cards.

This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide self-directed recovery-oriented support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. Work involves implementing community-based programs and activities focusing on mental health, mental illness and psychiatric disability. Work is undertaken in a range of community contexts such as community based non-government organisations; home based outreach; centre-based programs; respite care; residential services, rehabilitation programs; clinical settings; or supporting people in employment. Work is carried out autonomously under the broad guidance of other practitioners and professionals.

This qualification reflects the role of an enrolled nurse working under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse.
Enrolled nurses provide nursing care for people across the health care continuum and at all stages of life.
To be eligible to apply for registration as an enrolled nurse and to practice in Australia, individuals must complete a Diploma of Nursing program accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) and approved as ‘an approved program of study’ by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) in accordance with the Enrolled Nurse Accreditation Standards. To confirm the education provider holds the necessary accreditation check the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at www.ahpra.gov.au.
The scope of practice for enrolled nurses is determined by legislative requirements and the policies and procedures of the employing organisation.
This qualification may contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's (NMBA) registration requirements to practice as an enrolled nurse.

This entry level qualification will give you the start you need to work in a hairdressing salon. You'll obtain the skills, knowledge and confidence to get your career as a hairdresser underway and improve your opportunities for obtaining a hairdressing apprenticeship.
As a salon assistant you will be the first staff member to greet a client for their appointment. It's your job to provide them with excellent customer service and ensure that the hairdressers have what they need throughout each appointment.
You'll learn to:

This entry level qualification is a good start to your career in the make-up and cosmetic retail industry. You'll learn basic skills in workplace communication, client interaction, demonstrating and selling make-up and retail skin care products, and performing routine salon or store functions. Gain the necessary experience to become a retail sales staff member who works across a range of tasks to sell and demonstrate beauty or cosmetic products, this can include in workplaces like beauty and hairdressing salons, retail outlets and department stores.
